Rodney Pike Digital Art Summit Caricature Demo

Above is a caricature study of Joschka Fischer who was the subject of a Digital Art Summit I was invited to be a part of by Tim O'neal of Digital Paint Magazine, as well as a 90 minute teaching video and caricature demo from start to finish. Click on the image below for viewing details.

Billy Joel Caricature Study

I had a little fun today with this caricature study of Billy Joel. My work has taken on a totally different look since I started drawing again. It really helps to get a good sketch developed and work on top of that. Why not just paint it you may ask? I am getting back to the basics by sketching and I am teaching myself digital painting so you will see some of that in the near future. Meanwhile there are a lot of people who still like the photo-manipulated caricatures so we'll see. I never plan these things. I just go with my instincts and most importantly, I do what I enjoy.

Barack Obama Caricature Study

This is a quick caricature study I did today of Barack Obama. I didn't quite get the look I was aiming for so I'm calling this finished and moving on to a new project. Obama is always fun though and they're all good practice.
